Jacob Coxey
Jacob Coxey led a an Army of Unemployed workers on a march to Washington D. C. in 1894. Coxey's army started the march because of the Panic of 1893. The march had huge press coverage and was called the Hobo Army and even Vagrants. The march was largely unsuccessful and they never got their legislation passed. The march instilled thoughts that the unemployed were in need of assistance and a need for something to change.
